Terms of Service
By using BricBook you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English so you can actually read them.
EFFECTIVE 19 SEPTEMBER 2026 · VERSION 1.0
1. What BricBook is
BricBook is a web-based platform where:
- Clients post project briefs and hire architects.
- Architects and studios list their firm, respond to briefs, and collaborate with clients throughout a project.
- Both sides share site photos, drawings, chat, and milestones in one workspace scoped to each project.
BricBook is the platform — we are not a party to the professional-services contract between a client and an architect. We do not perform architectural work ourselves.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- One account per person. Studios can add team members as separate users under one studio.
3. Acceptable use
Don't do any of the following on BricBook:
- Post content that infringes copyright, trademark, or another person's rights.
- Impersonate someone else, a real firm, or a licensed architect you are not.
- Upload malware, run automated scrapers, or attempt to bypass access controls.
- Use BricBook for anything illegal under Indian law.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
- Circumvent BricBook to conduct off-platform payments purely to avoid platform fees (if any) that apply to a marketplace engagement.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Serious violations may be reported to authorities.
4. Content ownership
- Your content is yours. Photos, drawings, chat messages, and files you upload remain your intellectual property.
- You grant BricBook a limited licence to host, display, and process your content solely to operate the service (e.g. showing your drawings inside your project workspace, delivering a message you sent, generating a handover certificate).
- Marketplace profile content (firm bio, portfolio, project photos you opt to feature publicly) is displayed publicly by design.
5. Marketplace engagements
- Job briefs, quotes, timelines, fees, and deliverables are agreed directly between client and architect. BricBook is the coordination layer, not the counterparty.
- BricBook does not guarantee the quality, licensure, or availability of any architect listed. Verified badges indicate we've checked a firm's registered practice, not that we endorse their work.
- Disputes between a client and an architect should be resolved between them. BricBook can share the project's audit trail (activity log, chat history, uploaded files) on written request from either party.
6. Fees and payments
During the current beta period, BricBook is free to use for both clients and architects. If we introduce paid plans or platform fees in the future, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance by email, and no charge will apply to work already in flight before that date.
7. Third-party services
BricBook integrates with third-party services (Supabase for data hosting, Google for sign-in, WhatsApp for delivery, Resend for email). Your use of those integrations is also governed by their own terms. We choose providers we trust, but we don't control their services.
8. Termination
- You can close your account any time by emailing sdefiners@gmail.com. Your data is handled per our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if we're legally required to, or if we discontinue the service (we'll give at least 30 days' notice for the latter).
9. Warranty and liability
BricBook is provided "as is". We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all bugs will be fixed. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, BricBook's total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim — which, during the free beta, is zero.
We are not liable for construction defects, project delays, cost overruns, professional negligence, or any dispute between clients and architects using our platform.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.
